Let your rib eye stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes prior to cooking.
Pre-heat oven to 425.
Salt and pepper your rib eye.
Heat cast iron skillet on high. Drizzle some cooking oil and allow 10 seconds to heat the oil.
Sear the rib eye 1 minute on each side. Remove from heat and transfer to pre heated oven. Cook for 6-7 minutes.
While the Rib eye is cooking in the oven, brown some minced garlic. Add some butter to the garlic and allow to butter to melt.
Remove from oven and let stand for 2 minutes. Pour the garlic and butter atop the rib eye while it is resting.
